Peter Kassis joined Phoenix Houses of New England as its Regional Medical Director in May of 2020.  Dr. Kassis is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He is dual-boarded in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He has dedicated his professional life to the well-being of underserved communities and those suffering from substance use disorders. Over the past 20 years he has worked as a direct care provider, educator and physician leader in community health centers and addiction treatment programs—in inpatient, residential and outpatient settings. Previous roles include attending physician at Baystate-Brightwood Community Health Center in Springfield MA, Family Medicine Clerkship Coordinator at Tufts School of Medicine (Western Mass Campus), Medical Director for Quality at Clean Slate Addiction Treatment Centers, Assistant Chief Medical Officer with Health Care Resource Centers and most recently as Medical Director of Medical Services at the Brattleboro Retreat.
