Program

Description

The Providence Outpatient program offers standard adult outpatient services that include two levels of care: Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP). When determining appropriate level of care, staff use the guidelines set forth by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Services are tailored to meet each patient’s individual needs, including co-occurring mental health issues, with the goal of helping them regain control of their lives by establishing sobriety, supporting a sustained recovery, and creating support networks.  Intensive outpatient programs are also available in group and individual settings. Our mission is to help heal individuals, families, and communities challenged by substance use disorders and related mental health conditions.

At Providence Outpatient Services, each patient receives care from a multidisciplinary team, which may include: psychiatrist, medical professionals, social workers, family therapists, clinical case managers, and certified alcoholism and substance abuse counselors.

The program utilizes a range of evidence-based methods, from cognitive behavioral therapy to medication-assisted treatment. The goal is to do whatever it takes to give patients the best chance for lasting recovery. Specialized programming is provided to adults with co-occurring mental health problems. In addition, patients may engage in expressive arts, meditation, and other activities aimed at developing a healthy, sober lifestyle.

Addiction can be a tremendous strain on the entire family, and Phoenix House is committed to easing that burden by making treatment both accessible and affordable. Providence Outpatient Services is committed to treating the whole person, which includes the family system. Family participation is encouraged throughout the treatment program. For this reason, a quarterly Family Weekend Program is offered as a first step to healing through the use of family therapeutic modalities.  This program is a free, two-day intensive educational and experiential workshop designed to give families a better understanding of addiction and how it affects the entire family system. The Family Weekend Program treats the entire family unit so that all members who have been impacted can process, heal, and begin the important journey of recovery.

Providence Outpatient Services’ goals for patients include:  understanding the disease of addiction; increased sobriety time; learning to utilize community/family/social support; building a sober lifestyle; recognizing potential dangers to recovery; and improved self care.

Providence Outpatient Services is accredited by CARF, a nationally recognized standard of excellence.
