Melissa joined Phoenix House in 2013 as a Registered Nurse at our treatment facility in Exeter, Rhode Island. While there she played an instrumental role in shaping our Medication Assisted Treatment program. Throughout the years she has served the organization in multiple roles, such as Campus Director, Director of Acute Treatment Services, Director of Nursing, and Regional Director of Clinical Services. In her current role as Vice President, Nursing and Patient Care Services, Melissa is responsible for maximizing effective patient care, overseeing nursing, and other direct patient care services, in a way that strategically creates value to the patient, the system, and the community.
Melissa brings more than 17 years of experience in clinical and operational management to her role at Phoenix House. Before entering the healthcare field, she enjoyed success in the business world, most recently serving as Vice President of Government Contracting at PAR Products, Inc.
She is a member of the Phoenix House National Clinical Transformation Team (NCTT) and has served on CARF’s International Standards Advisory Committee (ISAC), working to revise the standards for detoxification.
Melissa has a passion for the substance use disorder field, a strong commitment to evidence-based practices, and is highly motivated to advance the mission of Phoenix House. She has a results-oriented approach and the highest ethical and professional standards.
